'Handful of Stars' is definitely my favorite from the list and the album that got me into Drudkh and into metal more broadly. I guess it was an easier to digest album for the newbie me through its melodic nature, though it still preserves the epicness of the band.
Probably because it comes across with more of an indie/shoegaze sensibility which makes it either a gateway or an obstacle, depending on who you talk to about it.
Same, though I'm selling it right now. I had all the Embassy Prod CDs except for "Pentagram" which I remember was all sorts of fucked because it didn't have track breaks.
Fuck yeah that Thy Serpent ep is my favourite. I had Deathbearer on a Spinefarm sampler, great song. I also love Hallucinogen, such a complete trip.
As rerecordings go, my favourite is Moonspell’s go at Under the Moonspell / Under Satanae in 2007. The original is raw and eager, the update is thick and intense. Love them both.
I had no idea they did that, I fell off Moonspell when "Irreligious" came out, same way I thought "October Rust" wasn't for me, but I love "Wolfheart" even if it's a bit ham handed.
I came into Moonspell the other way around, from Irreligious and Sin (stil my favourite, even though I really dislike all the Sisters of Mercy / Depeche Mode influence they pulled from). And yeah ham handed is perfectly put for Wolfheart. It's like a first kiss. Technically flawed, maybe, but full of emotion and hard to define feelings.
That Vlad Tepes tape to this very day blows my mind. I had my copy since 97-ish whenever I first met Jon until I literally sold it like a handful of years ago. It’s a rare item where the notoriety matches the music and vice-versa. Much like Velvet Cacoon, it’s become part of BM lore. But yes so many elite choices here as per usual.
Yeah I know the “goodbye” feeling but just be happy you didn’t have to spend $350 on it like some random crazy manic in Brazil or Japan. You still have the memories and bragging rights lol.
I appreciate it but I'd had it up for sale for a bit, with the intention of getting the vinyl to replace it. That was why I started my Discogs account this time (I had one I sold from in 2018-20, also during financial hard times but nothing like this) so that I could sell off CDs and some tapes in order to get the vinyl versions, which worked for a bit and will again once everything here gets in order. The red case you got it in was from a Living Colour tape I had as a kid, I kept the case long after losing the tape because I wanted to put it on something important, so that's an extra bit of history on your copy. Thanks for giving it a proper home.

Still have the Embassy Productions CD of War Funeral March.

I know the Wild Rags version had one long track as well.

Just had to sell my tape last week but it’s fine, hope to get the vinyl eventually

Yo, I bought it. If you get to a point where you need it back, I’ll sell it back to you at cost (or whatever). Just kick ass at this bullshit life.
